Sitaram Bagh Temple, Mallepally (Hyderabad), Andhra Pradesh

The temple of Sita Ramji was constructed in 1833 by a devotee Sri Puranmal Mahanandaroy.

Spread over 25 acres of garden, Sitaram Bagh Temple is a beautiful shrine in Hyderabad. It is a blend of different architectural styles including South Indian, Rajasthani, Mughal and European. Built by Puranmal Ganeriwala, a banker, in 1830s, the temple complex is surrounded by a 20 ft high wall, lending it a fort-like appearance..


Sitaram Bagh Temple or Seetharambagh temple is one of the oldest Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Rama and his wife Sita located in Mangalhat, Seetarambagh area of Hyderabad. Devotee Sri Puranmal Mahanandaroy in 1833 and its spread constructed it over an area of 25 acres. It was constructed during the regime of Qutub Shahi Kings.

Sitaram Bagh Temple is fine combination of different architectural work which includes South Indian blend with Rajasthani, Mughal and European style. There is a 20 feet’s high wall surrounding this temple and thus it looks like a fort. The major area of this temple is dedicated to open scrub and the minor one is to the complex of temples, samadhis and residential quarters. The courtyard presents a new facet, style, structure and one would be thrilled to see it with surprises.
The major sanctum sanctorum of Lord Rama and Sita is carved through marbles and there are also shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Hanuman, Goddess Lakshmi, and Varadarajaswamy within the temple.
